Sweet Cards, Sweeter Family

I swear Matt and I are so blessed to have amazing role models to look up to and admire.  We are each lucky in that our parents have been together for many, many years, and set such wonderful examples of marriage and commitment.  We are always being encouraged and prayed for on a regular basis, and for this I am so thankful.

We received several sweet cards in the mail over the past few days, each one congratulating us on 5 years of marriage, and providing some little anecdotes of advice and words of encouragement.

And if we couldn't possibly be any luckier, we also still have my sweet Pops that is ALWAYS thinking of us.  As most of you probably remember, Grams passed away back in July 2010, after 60+ years of marriage to Pops.  They were seriously the sweetest, most amazing couple...such an inspiration.  I cannot even begin to tell you how many letters, cards and notes we receive from him on a regular basis, every single one always closing with how important it is for Matt and me to cherish and love one another.  The sweet anniversary card and special note we received yesterday is just another example...

Y'all, does it get any sweeter?  It makes my heart so happy to know our family has our back.  I've said it before...marriage takes hard work, but when you have an encouraging and uplifting support system, it sure helps.  I am so thankful that our parents, grandparents and other family members continue to set these examples for us and help to guide us.

On that note, I guess I should wish my Love a Happy Anniversary!  I cannot believe it's been 5 years since that perfect sunset evening.  I don't remember much from that night, but I do remember how I felt walking down that aisle to you.  Truth be told, I still feel that way a little bit every night when I come home to see you.  Cheers to 5 years....I can't wait for 55 more :)
