Happy Friday!!

Friday, Friday, it takes you FOREVER to get here. By the time you finally show your face, this is how I feel...

We have a fun weekend planned...our friends Jason and Amy are coming in tonight on their way to the beach (those lucky dogs) and we have Music and Fireworks in the Vineyards tomorrow night at Morgan Creek! I really hope the weather holds out for us tomorrow as it has pretty much been raining every day around 6 for the past week. Typical Alabama summer...or so I am told.

And for my Friday's Five Faves...

Only 8 Frozen Yogurt...I get excited just blogging about this stuff. It is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G., with literally, 8 calories per 1 oz. serving. In other words, you can get a huge bowl of it and still be under 100 calories, or in my case, I get it in a waffle cone since I know I am already saving calories on the icecream itself. We have two places in B'ham that carry it, but if your local icecream spot does not carry it, tell them to, stat.

Crossword Puzzles...preferably pop-culture related ones. Matt and I picked up this People Magazine book of crosswords, and have been fighting over who gets to do them.

The new Stephenie Meyer book...The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. This is a kind of "extra" novella that goes along with Eclipse. If you are a Twilight fanatic such as myself, you must read this short story. It's great and just made me even more excited for the Eclipse premier next week! I have not yet convinced Matt that we are going on opening night, but this battle is not yet surrendered. Rest assured.

My Keurig coffee maker...this was a gift from my sweet M.I.L. and F.I.L. and it has been a wonderful addition to my morning routine. I love being able to have a selection of coffee to choose from, and the whole one-cup-at-a-time process is perfect. We have one at work too, and it is safe to safe that I am an Keurig addict.

Overnight Oatmeal..I have probably talked about this before, but it's worth repeating. I got out of the habit of eating this FOR AWHILE, but got back on the wagon this week. There is no easier way to have a healthy and filling breakfast, super quick. Just soak 1/2 cup rolled oats in about 1 cup of soy (or almond) milk overnight in a covered bowl (the milk should cover the oats). Then in the morning, just pop it in the micro for 1 minute to heat up, add some fresh fruit, almonds, honey, and whatever else you like. The milk soaks up the oats overnight so you don't have to cook them as long. DELICIOUS!
