Pregnancy Journal: 18 Weeks

Due date: May 1, 2012 (we'll see if it changes again at our next appointment!)
How far along: 18 weeks
Size of baby: A bell pepper
Weight gain: About 5 pounds over my starting weight. Definitely showing, and quickly running out of things that fit!
Maternity clothes: The maternity jeans have made an appearance (Gap's "Always Skinny" are awesome), along with some long sleeved maternity tops (Gap's "Bowery super soft" are my fave).  Otherwise, it's lots of dresses and tights.
Movement: Besides some little bubbles, nothing major yet.
Sleep: Pretty good! Still having really bizarre dreams.
Cravings: Appetite is good (hence the weight gain), but I get full pretty quickly.  We're still eating out a lot depending on what my craving is, and because the move has us all disorganized. Favorite things to eat lately have been Panera's black bean soup, Tazikis' veggie gyro, tuna fish sandwiches (Oh my gosh I could totally go for that right now), veggie pizza, salads, peanut butter sandwiches, fruits and veggies.
Aversions: Not really anything in particular, except most ice cream. Sweets in general aren't very appealing...at least not like usual.
Symptoms: The occasional headache.
What I miss: Maybe being able to have a glass of wine or a martini at dinner....
What I'm looking forward to: Starting on the nursery and finding out the gender!
Best moment of the week: Getting moved in to the new house and imagining bringing home Baby Mac there.  Love going in the nursery and just sitting:)
Thoughts on pregnancy: This 2nd trimester is flying, just like everyone said it would.  Coupled with moving, traveling, Thanksgiving and now getting ready for Christmas, the past month has flown by.  Some days I just want time to hurry up so Baby Mac will get here, but then again, I just love being pregnant and want to continue to enjoy it.  Not to mention that we have A LOT to do to get ready.  Still though, every time I see a little baby (on TV or in person) I feel this longing to hold my own.  It's really kind of crazy...

Here's my latest bump picture (a bare belly one nonetheless...don't get used to it)...

Ok, thoughts/predictions/old wives' tales on the gender considering how I'm carrying??
