How far along: 16 weeks
Size of baby: An avocado
Weight gain: About 4 pounds over my starting weight. Definitely got a little bump now!
Maternity clothes: Not quite yet. I am down to a couple pairs of my regular pants that I can still wear. I really need to go get one of those belly bands. Otherwise it's been lots of dresses and tights.
Movement: Nothing really major yet...see below
Sleep: I'm at the tail end of a nasty cold and sinus infection, so sleep hasn't been too great for the past week. Still having really bizarre dreams too.
Cravings: Appetite is good (hence the weight gain). We eat out a lot because I'll just randomly think of something I want, and it's like there's no turning back. Even when I make plans to cook something, and buy all the ingredients for it, when I get home I decide that it just doesn't sound good. Favorite things to eat have been Panera's black bean soup, Tazikis' veggie gyro, McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone, peanut butter sandwiches, fruits and veggies.
Aversions: Not really anything in particular, except most ice cream.
Symptoms: Just this awful cold.
What I miss: Maybe being able to have a glass of wine or a martini at dinner....
What I'm looking forward to: Starting on the nursery and finding out the gender!
Best moment of the week: Pretty sure I felt "something" the other night in bed. It was unlike anything I've ever felt before...almost like bubbles or butterflies moving up my belly. We also finished up our Pottery Barn registry the other day. Still got to get after the Buy Buy Baby one, which is going to be a job. That place is so overwhelming!
Thoughts on pregnancy: I'm definitely feeling that 2nd trimester energy bump, which really just means I'm starting to feel like myself again. Although I have continued to exercise pretty much everyday, I had to back off a little those first couple of months. I'm back to light jogging now, which feels great, and I plan to head back to my beloved power yoga classes next week. Right now I am just really focused on trying to take as good of care of my body as possible.
