Pregnancy Journal: 8 Weeks

Due date: April 29, 2012 (it got moved up after our appt. last week!)
How far along: 8 weeks
Size of baby: A sweet jelly bean
Weight gain: Still holding at a total weight loss of 1.5 lbs, although my pants are a little snug in the belly.
Maternity clothes: Lord no
Movement: Not yet
Sleep: Not too great lately...just generally uncomfortable because of nausea and lower back pain
Cravings: More like what I can actually stomach...pretzels, crackers, plain oatmeal, simple pastas, grapes, ginger ale, PayDay candy bars, Milo's french fries (seriously...).
Aversions: Really nothing sounds good.  We have this Edy's rainbow sherbert in the house (that I normally love) and my stomach literally turns upside down when I see or smell it.  Matt finally just finished the last of it, and it will NOT be in the house again.
Symptoms: Queasy pretty much all day everyday, a little fatigue, naps are my friend.
What I miss: Red wine, hot yoga, sushi, sleeping on my belly...in that order.
What I'm looking forward to: Our next ultrasound on 10/4; telling friends in a few weeks.
Best moment of the week: No question about it...hearing that little (and fast!) heartbeat for the first time.  I can't even begin to explain the joy I felt.
Thoughts on pregnancy: Besides saying "I Do" to Matt, that moment where we heard the heartbeat was literally the most exciting and emotional experience I've ever felt.  Everything feels so much more "real" now.  It's amazing how quickly you become attached.  I also did not think I would have nausea like this.  For some reason I felt like I would be one of those women with no symptoms.  Oh well, if this is the only thing, I certainly can deal :)

Here is our very first ultrasound!

So happy :)

Love catching up on your "pregnancy journal"! I so agree with you about hearing that heartbeat for the first time. It truly makes it feel so real! Congrats again and I look forward to reading more :)
