Matt and I love a good happy hour at a fun bar with tasty cocktails and a nice atmosphere. Where Matt likes places that are fun and lively, I prefer someplace quaint and cozy. We try and mix it up, but here are a few of our favorite spots...
* Dram. Probably the place we frequent the most. Great outdoor patio with comfy couches, and during the cooler months, there are fires lit in the indoor fireplaces. I am not much of a whiskey fan, but I've tried several here that I have loved. I recommend the Blackberry Winter, the John Daly, Pacific Pearl, their mimosas, or any of the Pinot Noirs on the wine list. Good appetizers too...try the fried okra, Seattle Roll, guacamole, and flatbread pizzas.
* Wine Loft. So classy and cozy with nice comfy couches, dim lighting and obviously a fantastic wine list. They have a free wine tasting on Wednesdays after work! Their food menu is yummy too and we always get good service.
* J Clyde. Although I'm not a beer person, Matt loves this place for their HUGE selection of beers on draft. They carry all the local breweries plus beers from all over the world. He keeps a list in his phone of ones he's tried so he can try something different each visit.
* Bonefish. Love sitting up at the bar, sipping on a strawberry martini and eating some Bang Bang Shrimp. I like that you can enjoy your whole meal here without waiting and hour plus for a regular table. The bartenders are usually friendly, especially when you become a regular:)
* Wined'down. We love going to the movies and then walking next door for a little nightcap afterwards. Just buy a bottle from their selection and cork it right there. Good live music on the weekends too.
* Chuy's. Fun atmosphere, great view, and usually good people watching. Oh, and that beer-garita with the sidecar of Grand Marnier. Yeah, it's awesome after a long day.
* Chez Lulu. Total girly place, but sometimes I can convince Matt to go. I feel like I am in a little French cafe or something when I go here. Love their fresh fruit martinis and mimosas and getting the cheese and fruit plate to nibble on. The outdoor tables are nice too.
* As of late we've been visiting Village Tavern. The atmosphere is really nice and it reminds me of an NYC bar. They have good appetizers and bar bites...must try their spinach artichoke dip! I really like their martinis, especially the simple Cosmo.
