Thanksgiving in Sarasota

As usual, we had a great visit with my family in Sarasota.  This trip was a lot more low key and quiet than normal, which Matt and I LOVED.  It was just nice to relax, rest and visit rather than running around like crazy.  Besides running a Thanksgiving morning 10K, going out to lunch a couple times, and making a very short trip to Macy's (that's about the extent we participated in Black Friday), we just hung around the house.  I had good intentions of starting my final exams review, but unfortunately my notes and books never left my back pack.  Oh well!

Like I said, Thanksgiving morning, Logan, Holley and I ran the Turkey Trot 10K...

Not a bad little view for a run huh?

Logan and Holley finishing!

Go me!

Darn eyes are closed

Celebratory beer?  I think so.

This was so fun and gave us a really good excuse to enjoy all the yummy food later that day.

Thanksgiving Day was beautiful....high 70s and not a cloud in the sky.

Just watching the golfers...

I couldn't believe how green my parents' yard (and the golf course) was considering that everything is brown and dead in B'ham.

The meal was fabulous...

Turkey, ham, sweet potato casserole, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed taters, strawberry salad, cranberries, rolls...we don't mess around on holidays.

Everyone makes fun of me and my camera timer, but see how well worth it it is!

Love them all :)

We also got to visit with the Cheesman's Saturday night.  They are such dear friends of ours, and I just love it when we can get together.  Thanks Laura for sending the cute pics!
