Meet Maggie!! (a/k/a Ashley, a/k/a poor confused little girl)

Here is our latest foster dog...

Someone at the GBHS gave her the name Ashley, but when we picked her up, we were encouraged to feel free to change that name because no one really liked it. I don't think she really looks like an Ashley either. Matt and I discussed some options and decided that she looks like a "Maggie." Poor thing gets used to one name at GBHS and then we go and change it. She probably had another name prior to her surrendering too. Oh well, she seems to be responding to her new moniker. It is so funny having such a little girl around the house. We have always had big dogs around here. Pretty sure Maddux already has a little crush on her.

We aren't really sure about her story yet except that she was an owner surrender and she has several health issues, including heart worms, so we are going to have her for a few months while she recovers. She is SO SWEET! It's hard to understand how people can just give up sweet babies like this and not think anything of it. You would have to kill me before I would let anyone EVER take my babies from me. If you have a minute, read this article about pet surrendering...
It's sad, but it's important for people to understand the realities and consequences of pet surrendering.
