I was a lone ranger this weekend. Matt ventured off to Cajun country for the LSU/Auburn game. I just decided that it was too quick of a trip to warrant the fuss packing, boarding the dogs, missing bar review and the very important task of picking out a gameday outfit. Oh, and getting up at the crack of dawn when I am already sleep deprived. You know I am worn out when I turn down an LSU home game to watch re-runs of Friends and study legal ethics for my upcoming MPRE. Matt assured me that he yelled loud enough for the both of us. I find it funny that he went to the game with his die-hard Auburn buddies, yet this was their tailgate set-up...
Yep, even the "other team" wants to party with the Cajuns.
It's funny because I always get a little giddy when Matt leaves town. I think about how I am going to eat whatever I want, have full control of the TV remote, sleep smack dab in the middle of the bed and basically do whatever I darn well please. Does anyone else revel in these opportunities? I did do all this, and even enjoyed a fun Saturday outing with Cassie that involved pedicures, a girly lunch, TJ Maxx and Homegoods. By Saturday night though, I was ready for Matt to be home. 24 hours, and I missed my hubby. A little "alone time" is always nice, but the best part of it is when the other person walks back through the door :)
After Matt got home Sunday morning we went to breakfast and headed over to the GBHS for their annual Fall Festival. We took Jack so that we could walk him around and hopefully spike some interest. He'll be cleared for adoption in another week. People were just going crazy over him! I feel confident that he is going to find a home pretty quickly.
One more thing...that did not technically occur over the weekend, but I forgot to post it earlier. Check out a sneak peek from our little photo-op with the oh so talented Volree of Volree Photography...

I'm dying to see the rest! Volree did such an amazing job and has such a great "eye" for style. I had it in my head that I wanted a more urban/vintage feel for the shots and she knew exactly the location and style to go for. It was so relaxing and easy and nothing felt forced or goofy like a lot of pictures do. If you are in the Birmingham area I highly recommend her. Check out her website for her portfolio and info.

Awesome photo of the fam! When I am alone I totally love going to late night yoga and sprawling out in the bed too, but I much rather be with Jon, 24-hours is long enough! :)
