Date night....with friends!

We had an extra special date night this Friday with some friends.  We decided to take advantage of Birmingham's Restaurant Week and enjoyed a fabulous meal at Bottega.  Seriously my meal was phenomenal....chilled gazpacho with pine nuts and almonds, garganelli with summer veggies and pesto, and blueberry tiramisu.  Oh, and a blueberry martini:)  I totally should have taken a picture of my meal, but I did get some cute shots of our group...

The funny part was that even after we had a night cap at Ross and Cassie's, we had to run by Krispy Kreme because Matt was in charge of breakfast for his golf game the next morning.  Whoever says that hot Krispy Kremes at midnight are not the best thing ever, are on crack.

I also saw The Help Saturday morning and it was wonderful!!  I think it is the best book to movie adaption I have ever seen.  I laughed out loud in so many parts and boo-hoo'd at the end, which I wasn't expecting.  I highly recommend this movie, and obviously the book, but the movie is almost just as good as the book.

All in all it was a great weekend!  Now we're just relaxing with some wine and getting started on our usual Sunday night grill-out.  Now if only some fall weather would start making an appearance it would be perfect.  Hope everyone else has had a great weekend and here's to a great week!
