NYC Part 3

On our last full day we went to the Bronx Zoo.  I love zoos, but in all honesty, this was just OK.  It takes awhile to get there (tip: take the MTA bus that picks up along Madison and drops you off right at the zoo gates) and it's a full 1/2 day with travel time and all that, and I just wasn't that impressed.  I think our B'ham Zoo is way better, but that's just my opinion.  Still it was a beautiful day and we had fun.

Bison
This baby duck got lost from its mama and siblings!
We were trying to direct him back to his family.

Deer and elk
Poor polar bear did not have a very big habitat.
He looks sad and lonely doesn't he:(
These two seemed to be big buddies
They went everywhere together

Sea lions

For dinner on our last night we ate at Candle Cafe, which is a vegetarian restaurant recommended to us.  DELICIOUS!  I about died when I looked at the menu and literally wanted everything on there.  This never happens.  Veggie or not, you will like this place.  It's kind of gourmet, farm to table, and the atmosphere was fun and eclectic.

Mom's veggie and tempeh quasadillas and my
kale/broccoli/roasted beets/cauliflower/tempeh plate.
Mmmmmmmm
Masters of the subway
We walked over to Times Square to stare at all the weirdos people watch.  Not a fan of Times Square, but it's one of those things you just have to go see.

That's the trip in a nutshell!  Such a fun city!!  I would totally live there for a couple years just for the heck of it, and assuming we could live next door to Gwyneth Paltrow in Manhattan and close to everything.  Would be an adventure...kind of like us moving to B'ham...just 10x the size:)

It was a great trip and was fun to be there with mom.  Hopefully we'll get to do it again soon!

LOVE all the pics! So happy you had fun. AND I'm so glad y'all are safe!!!!

By the way, we could go in together and buy the Home Alone house. Of course we'd have to re-decorate it EXACTLY as it was in the movie, and then we can take turns spending Christmas there!!! ;)
