Like I said in an earlier post, mom and I had the BEST time in NYC! Besides some rain on our first day, the weather was perfect. NYC in the springtime is definitely a great place.
We stayed at The Library Hotel which is a trendy little boutique hotel on Madison and 42nd. If and when we go back, I would love to stay there again. Perfect location, great continental breakfast every morning, and wine and cheese every evening, all included with your stay! The staff was wonderful and so service oriented. I highly recommend this place...one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed at.
I went for a run every morning. Probably one of my favorite parts of the trip was running through Central Park in the morning when it wasn't so crowded and just really peaceful.
On our first full day we walked to Union Square and Washington Square Park, NYU area, NOHO, Greenwich Village, Chelsea and the Meatpacking District.
An important tip is to have an itinerary. We kind of split the city of up in sections and tried to see as much as we could of each section on the designated day. Of course we did this and still didn't see everything we wanted to, but at least we were pretty organized. We definitely covered a lot of ground. On that note, bring comfortable shoes...like, go buy yourself some Merrell's or something. We probably walked 15+ miles each day (and this didn't include my 5 mile runs in the mornings).
