To resolute or not?
Do yall like to make New Year's Resolutions? I am personally not a fan. I have found that my "resolution" tends to just be something that I can't do, which in itself is not fun. Who needs to add to their list of things they can't do? I like to think in terms of "lifestyle changes." Some positive changes I can make that will have long term benefits and that I will feel encouraged by rather than stifled. I listed a few hopes, dreams and plans in a post awhile back. Besides those things, I am working on cleaning up my diet a little. I am generally a pretty healthy person. I like to say I follow the 90/10 rule. I eat healthy 90% of the time, and treat myself 10% of the time. However, I want to focus more on filling myself with nourishing, clean food rather than simply mainstream healthy food. In the past when I have cut out packaged foods (even packaged "diet" foods) I have more energy, sleep better and just feel better in general. It seems like I always fall off the wagon starting around Halloween and it just snowballs through Christmas. So back on the wagon I go. Matt is also going to be working hard on cleaning his diet up so at least we have the support of each other.

I'm with you on the resolution thing! I don't like them for the same reason you don't. I never keep them! I did promise myself that after Christmas I was going to do better at my walking/running. I started back last fall and then just quit! I really need to start back so I can shed me some pounds! I have also started trying to eat healthier. Speaking of....I'm hungry ;) But, I'll have a grapefruit instead of what I would normally scarf down!
Jon and I sit down together and make 10 goals each year. It is much better than resolutions and we keep to them. We post them up in the house somewhere we see them often, so it is easier to keep up through the year too. Have fun cleaning up the diet! :)
