Did everyone enjoy their extra hour of sleep this weekend? I would like to say we did, but the pups obviously do not understand this once a year anomaly and were inevitably pawing at the door at 7 am (read, 6 am). Not happy. It did however allow us to make it to the early service at church. We also had multiple fires this weekend, multiple s'mores, lots of comfort food and spent a lot of time snuggling on the couch watching football and movies. It was a chilly weekend. It was a relaxing weekend. It was a perfect weekend.
Sorry I am late on the blog challenge. I kind of avoided the computer today. Today is Day 20: Hobby of Mine...
Well besides my obvious hobby of blogging, I also LOVE to read. Right now I am reading Little Bee by Chris Cleave. This book has totally surprised me. It is a wonderful story...kind of heartbreaking and some parts are downright depressing, but it is beautifully written and a total page turner. Definitely recommend this one.
I also love to cook and bake, especially trying new recipes. This weekend I made enchiladas, veggie chili in the slow cooker, yellow cake with chocolate icing (a certain fave of a certain husband), and this deliciousness...Magic Bars! I pulled a vegan recipe from Chef Chloe and adapted it a little. She calls them "Beach Bars," but they are similar to what I know as "Magic Bars." You can get the recipe here.
With all the baking I love to do, it is only logical that my next hobby be working out. I am pretty much an everyday gym-goer. I love running, walking, yoga and strength training. There is nothing quite like an exercise high. It is seriously therapy for me.
