I had a flying squirrel when I was in college. His name was "Sprocket" and he was quite the interesting pet. I don't really remember why I decided to get such a thing, but I am assuming it had something to do with the "No Dogs or Cats" rule in my dorm. Didn't say anything about flying squirrels. He was funny...slept in a little pouch and made this crazy squawking noise if you went near his pouch. He had several near death encounters...one including a vacuum cleaner and another with an owl. Sprocket's final passing was equally unusual. My roommate called me out of my Chemistry class because Sprocket was "having a seizure or something." We rushed him to the emergency vet where they put him on the tiniest respirator I have ever seen. Yes, my flying squirrel was on life support. It was slightly traumatizing for me (him too, although I don't think he had any clue what was going on). Needless to say, Sprocket did not make it past that ordeal. R.I.P. Sprocket...

Wow that is totally random! And a great story! At least you always have a good ice breaker, I hate when this question comes up I feel like I never have anything good to say...3 more days to think about it for our blog! :)
