Weekend Wrap-up
Well we are pretty much moved out/in. In case I forget what exactly we did this weekend, all I have to do is think about the feeling in my arms, or lack thereof. NEVER AGAIN will we move by ourselves. The money saved by not hiring a moving company is totally not worth the pain and frustration. And to think that I only had to deal with it for a short period of time. I don't know how Matt and the other guys did it. Oh and did I mention that it is hot as Hades here? When we were hauling out part of the couch, a neighbor stopped us and asked us, "Do you know that it is the hottest day of the year today?" No ma'am we did not, but thank you for the little piece of inspiration. All soreness and heat exhaustion aside, we are pretty happy with how things are turning out. We spent most of Sunday unpacking and got the kitchen and dining room unpacked and organized. The dining room is the first thing we did, which is funny considering that it is generally the least used room in our house. It is always my very favorite though. Unpacking was like Christmas because we have had so many things in storage for the past 2 years, I had forgotten about them. We explored our new neighborhood for places to eat...so far we have made friends with the local Dominos Pizza delivery guy and Panera. It's funny when you move across town because your selection of shopping, restaurants, etc. completely changes. The even funnier part is that we actually drove back to our old neighborhood Sunday morning to get our favorite bagels and coffee. Change is hard regardless of what Mr. President may say. The dogs seem a little confused, but they are enjoying their new yard. We counted it up and Riley has lived in 10 different places in his 7 years of life and Maddux has lived in 6 places in 4 years...poor guys probably think they roll with a bunch of gypsies. I would love to post some pics of our progress, but seeing as we do not have cable or Internet yet, this will not happen. Hopefully later this week...
